[ He pauses and makes a face, arms tightening possessively around Song Lan. ]

... Not that I want you to try with someone else. You're mine.

I can't touch anyone else. How could I possibly do more?

[His nose wrinkles before he smiles at the jealousy.]

I have no desire to look elsewhere. I won't betray you.

I mean, you didn't like to touch me at first either.

[ Song Lan will get another kiss for that. ]

I know. [ But it's still nice to hear. ] I won't betray you either.

I didn't know how easy it would be. I thought touching you would make me worse.

[Not better. He rests his forehead against Xue Yang's.]

[ Xue Yang hums softly and nuzzles their noses together. ]

[He kisses that nose too. Xue Yang is asking for it.]

I never thought I would have your loyalty.

[ That makes him blush happily. ]

I never thought we'd end up like this.

I didn't either. [He smirks a bit, amused at the thought of how disturbed and flabbergasted his past self would have been at this outcome.] Will you give up Demonic Cultivation for me? For us?

[ If someone had told him before all of this that he would end up like this with Song Lan he would've laughed himself into an early grave. ]

Yeah. You... you're more important. [ He blushes as he says that and hides his face against his lover's chest. ]

[Zichen's smile is sudden and bright. Tears burn his eyes and he embraces Xue Yang tightly, his body shaking.]

You're more important than any Cultivation to me too, A-Yang. I want to keep you safe and happy.

[ Xue Yang easily melts into his lover's arms, feeling so warm hearing that. ]

You do...

[Zichen curls around him and he hears Fuxue hum.]

You're safe with me. I give you my word.

[ Xue Yang turns his head up only so he can lean in for a kiss. ]

I believe you.

[The silent request is met with a warm kiss that leaves Zichen smiling.]

Rest. I'm right here.

[ Xue Yang grins softly and nods. ]

You rest too. [ With that he settles in, cuddling up to Song Lan and soon drifting off to sleep. ]

I will. [He doesn't always need sleep, but it is nice... A luxury, really. Watching Xue Yang relax helps him relax too.]
