"Mmhm." Zichen is happy to give the compliments - Xue Yang has earned them, "You're adorable. You're selfless and brave. You're loving. I'm glad I came here. Even if my wish isn't fulfilled, I've known...you. The best parts of you."
Xue Yang blushes happily and nuzzles into Song Lan's shoulder. "You will have your wish fulfilled. I wouldn't have made it this far without you." He tilts his head up to press a kiss to his lover's jawline. "I love you."
"I do want to be warm for you." Zichen admits shyly, bringing Xue Yang's hand to his chest, "I want my heart to beat." his eyes close under the kiss and he smiles, "I love you too. We will be happy, A-Yang."
"I want that too. You deserve to be alive... and to keep your tongue." He slips a leg over Song Lan's hip, nuzzling in under his chin. "Mmm... I look forward to it."
Zichen sucks in a sharper breath and tucks himself against Xue Yang, shuddering. He remembers the agony of losing his tongue. He definitely doesn't want to repeat that.
"Even if... Even if I get angry, don't run away. Just stay with me."
"I won't," Xue Yang promises in a low murmur, "I'm not leaving you. Ever." Even if Song Lan wanted him to, Xue Yang doesn't think that he'd be able to, but he keeps that part to himself.
Xue Yang's eyes go a little wide, and then he grins. "A blood pact, huh? I wouldn't have thought you'd be the type to go for something like that." He laces their fingers together, squeezing his lover's hand.
"It suits you." Zichen explains, concentrating as he offers Xue Yang a bit of healing energy to seal the cut. He squeezes back and then nuzzles their lips together.
Zichen brings the previously cut palm to his lips, kissing the abused skin.
"Now you're being silly." he tuts, but he appreciates the reassurance, "Our blood has mingled. You won't lose sight of me and I won't lose sight of you."
"No, you're silly," he playfully argues back, leaning up to nibble at those tempting lips. "Mmm... I like that." Being bound to Song Lan... the idea doesn't scare him at all.
"Me?" he pretends to look baffled before smiling into the nibbling, "Any blood you spill is blood I spill." Zichen continues warmly, "That will be part of our marriage, A-Yang. We have to take care of each other and ourselves."
Xue Yang ducks his head and snuggles closer. "We will," he murmurs, "I won't have you get hurt." And especially not because he put his loved one in jeopardy!
Xue Yang feels so warm hearing that. He can't get enough of being told that he's important and precious to Song Lan. "I love you..." he murmurs, clinging tight to his lover's body.
The soft words make his heart ache and he smiles a little more, his eyes closing. The man Xue Yang has become, the man who has struggled and fought and sobbed to get to this point... Zichen loves him. And he will protect him.
"I love you. Rest, hm? I'll get us something to eat when you wake."
"Mmm... best husband ever," Xue Yang murmurs with a sleepy smile. He tugs the blankets up and around them as he snuggles deep into his lover's strong arms. It's not difficult to fall asleep when he's feeling so safe...
