zichen | IC Contact [Part II]

Xue Yang stumbles through the corridors, trying to find his way back to their cabin, but it's not easy with how drunk he is. He fumbles with the communicator and manages to start an audio call. He doesn't even know if Song Lan will be able to hear him, but... "A-Lan," he slurs, "I miss you and I'm... I'm lost? Drunk. Lost and drunk. Help?"

No matter what forces are at work, Zichen is too stubborn to be kept away indefinitely. He switches places with Wei Wuxian, a little puzzled as he finds himself in their cabin. His communicator alerts him to the call and he picks it up, immediately concerned. When was the last time he heard Xue Yang so...inebriated?

"Tell me what's around you, A-Yang." he answers calmly, leaving the cabin to find the other man, "Why did you drink so much?"

Hearing Song Lan's voice immediately makes Xue Yang feel better. A warmth spreads through him, a feeling like everything is going to be alright settling inside of him.

"Umm... cabins?" he says, "I don't know which floor I'm on..." He leans against a wall and lets himself sink down on the floor. "Dunno... I was with um, Wei... Wei Wuxian. He made me think about... things."

Zichen's concern heightens and he hurries down the hall, heading for the stairs. He will search each floor until he finds him!

"Stay put and breathe deep." he keeps his voice soft, soothing, "Did he upset you? I'm not sure what's happening, but I..." he frowns as he tries to word what he has experienced, "I went back. Without you. I'm guessing he came and...took my place?"

"Okay..." He leans his head back against the wall, feeling the world spin a little. "Yeah... I think so. It's some flood. I've been in and out too..." Though he doesn't know who took his place. He doesn't want to think about that.

"Mm, yes you have." Zichen continues his search until...

Ah. There he is. His nerves settle and he walks right up to Xue Yang, bending down beside him. Resting a hand against the other man's cheek, he sighs.

"A-Qing was here."

Xue Yang perks up when he hears footsteps and then he spots Song Lan, causing him to brighten up further. As soon as he's able, he flings his arms around his lover. "Missed you..." he murmurs, only to then pale a little when he's told who had been replacing him...

"...Guess I shouldn't be surprised."

Those arms around him make it easy for him to lift Xue Yang into his arms. He rises and starts to head back to their rooms, nuzzling his lover as he goes.

"I looked after her." he reassures, hugging Xue Yang to his chest, "Now I'm going to take care of you." he hesitates and frowns, "What did you discuss with Wei Wuxian?"

Xue Yang snuggles into Song Lan's arms and lets out a pleased little sigh. Yes, this is where he belongs. Safe and warm in this man's arms.

"I know..." He nuzzles into his chest and clings tightly to him. "... Mostly you. He didn't believe we were... together, at first."

"Why would he believe that?" Zichen is amused - and touched - that Xue Yang told him in the first place, "Did he think you put a spell on me?" he kisses Xue Yang's forehead as he climbs the stairs to their floor.

Maybe he had put a spell on him - just not the type of spell a Cutlivator would recognize.

Xue Yang giggles softly and nuzzles his lips against Song Lan's cheek. "Mmm, something like that. I thought he was gonna faint when I told him we're engaged!"

"A-Yang." Zichen inhales softly and opens the door to their cabin, carrying Xue Yang inside, "Sometimes I wake up before you and wonder over that. We've come...a long way."

Xue Yang grows a little more serious and clings tighter. "We have," he murmurs, "I love you..."

Sitting down in a comfortable chair, he perches Xue Yang on his lap. Then he leans into the embrace and closes his eyes.

"I love you too." he inhales deeply just to catch Xue Yang's scent, "I don't care if he believes you or not."

Xue Yang immediately curls up on Song Lan's lap, nuzzling into him. "Mmm, me neither," he murmurs with a chuckle. "I don't care what anyone thinks..." He knows that what he feels for Song Lan is real and true.

The tension deep inside of his chest eases and Zichen moves his hands over Xue Yang's sides and back. He is so warm! Xue Yang's warmth has been the only thing to drive away his own chill.

"I don't either. We're not going to be living with them. And if they disapprove enough to take action, I will either fight them or take us where they can't find us."

Xue Yang practically purrs as he's touched like that. He doesn't care about Song Lan's cool skin - he's warm enough for the both of them.

He smiles, feeling even warmer to hear that Song Lan would fight for him like that... "Mm, he said that he wouldn't tell anyone as long as I don't cause trouble."

Zichen strokes back Xue Yang's hair and kisses him tenderly, brushing their noses together. All of the little ways he can show affection are quite addictive. He can't stop when he is in his A-Yang's presence and he doesn't want to.

"I'm watching you." he murmurs, "I know you won't."

Xue Yang slides his fingers into Song Lan's hair and kisses him back. He lets out a soft, pleased noise into his lover's mouth.

"Mm, I've told you... I don't want to hurt anyone anymore. Least of all you."

"If I thought you did, I wouldn't love you." Zichen grips Xue Yang tighter, "Are you dizzy, love? How much did you have to drink?" he nuzzles his lips against Xue Yang's cheek, "You should drink water."

"Mmm... a little. Uh, four or five glasses of wine? Wei Wuxian cut me off before I could have more." He chuckles a little and sways on Song Lan's lap, nuzzling into him. "Talking 'bout you... made me miss you." He pouts a little.

"That's a considerable amount." Zichen frowns and pours Xue Yang a glass of water from the pitcher they keep on a nearby table, "Here, love. Drink." he softens under the affectionate, chuckling, "I missed you too."

So much he just...ached. And felt empty.

Xue Yang takes the glass and obediently drinks the water. "Good!" He giggles and leans his head against Song Lan's shoulder. "I always want to be with you..."

Zichen smiles, the expression warm with approval. Nasty headaches should be avoided at all cost!

"I won't let you wander off." he promises, kissing Xue Yang between sips, "We're going to have a good life together, A-Yang. You've paid for your sins and your mistakes. Now we can live as we should have lived from the beginning."

Xue Yang grins warmly and slips his hands into Song Lan's robes as he nuzzles him. "Mhmm, you and me and the cats..." He presses kisses to his lover's handsome face, feeling so damn full of affection.
