Why would I do that? [Zichen wraps Xue Yang in a towel.] My pride wouldn't survive it.

[ Xue Yang giggles and slips his arms around Song Lan's neck and kisses him. ]

Maybe because you like me? [ He teases. ]

[zichen]

[Zichen meets the kiss with a content hum, drying his mischievous husband off at the same time.]

I more than like you, silly man.

[He changes back into his trousers and a thin robe.]

[ Xue Yang lets out another little laugh and snuggles happily against his husband when he's dried off. Then he follows Song Lan's example and gets dressed as well. He stays close though and once dressed, he grabs Song Lan's hand. ]

Are you ready to go?

[zichen]

[Wrapping an arm around Xue Yang's waist, Zichen leads them out. He is...eager.]

I need to swim with you more often.

[He is more than ready~]

[ Xue Yang grins and wraps his own arm around his husband's back as they start to walk back to their cabin. ]

You do! It was fun~

[zichen]

It was. [Zichen presses a kiss to Xue Yang's temple as they walk.] Thank you for joining me, love.

[ Xue Yang beams under the kiss. ] Mhm! I always want to spend time with you, so... [ He's so disgustingly in love! ]

[zichen]

I know the feeling. [Zichen keeps Xue Yang tucked safely against his side, his attention half on their surroundings and anyone they might pass by.] I will keep you safe.

I'll keep you safe too! [ Xue Yang, on the other hand, pays absolutely no mind to their surroundings and just keeps himself snuggled up to his husband's side. ]

[zichen]

I believe you. [He opens their cabin door and leads Xue Yang inside. Muyang is standing on top of the snake terrarium, tail swishing. This is fun~]

Muyang, you naughty boy.

[ Xue Yang laughs at the sight of their misbehaving cat. He approaches and gently picks Muyang up. ]

Hey, hey. No bullying the snake.

[zichen]

[The snake is soaking in her dish of water, much too happy to notice a naughty cat!]

That is why we gave her a roof. [Zichen tuts and scritches under Muyang's chin.]

[ Xue Yang chuckles and snuggles the grumpy looking cat. ]

At least our princess is behaving. [ He glances down at Xiuying who is napping on a chair. ]

[zichen]

[Muyang yowls and then closes his eyes, purring against Xue Yang's chest. He's a big soft boy~]

She is causing trouble in her dreams. [Zichen drops a kiss onto Xiuying's head.]

[ Xue Yang holds him close and happily scratches and snuggles the big, sweet cat.

He chuckles at Song Lan's comment. ]

Probably dreaming about eating our poor bird.

[zichen]

I wouldn't doubt it. Poor thing. [Zichen visits said bird, rubbing a finger against his chest. The owl finch sings happy notes.]

He has no idea.

He'd probably be stressed out if he knew! [ Finally he puts Muyang down with Xiuying, and he immediately wraps himself around her. ]

[zichen]

I don't know if he's that bright, love. [Zichen chuckles and closes the door to the owl finch's cage.] He is happy and that is all that matters. It's down to us to protect him.

[He smiles softly at Muyang and Xiuying.]

Muyang has been protecting her since the beginning.

[ Xue Yang makes his way up to Song Lan so he can drape his arms around his middle and snuggle up to his side. ] Just like it's my job to protect you. [ He grins and rubs his face against his husband's arm. ]

Mhm, they're adorable.

[zichen]

[Zichen softens and rubs over Xue Yang's arms and hands. He hums and leans against his husband, letting peace flood his veins.]

I am safe with you. [He turns just enough to pick Xue Yang up around his waist.] And you are protected by me.

[ Xue Yang nuzzles into him, only to them let out a surprised little squeak when he's lifted so effortlessly. Fuck, he can never get over how hot it is that his husband can just do that!

He drapes his arms around Song Lan's neck and his legs hook around his hips. ]

I know.

[zichen]

[He grins at the sound and snuggles the other man against him. Holding Xue Yang is one of his favorite indulgences. He loves how he relaxes against him, trusting him.]

Even if I must face a god, I'm not afraid.

[ Xue Yang loves to be held too. He craves feeling safe, even feeling small sometimes. Small in a way that invites comfort and protection, rather than cruelty and abuse. With his Song Lan he now feels safe being vulnerable. Nothing can compare to that kind of trust.

He grins and leans up to kiss Song Lan's lips. ] You'd fight a god for me?

[zichen]

[Xue Yang is smaller than him, so this works out perfectly. Zichen returns the pressure of the kiss and sits down on the edge of their bed. This way Xue Yang can perch on his thighs - something else he enjoys. For obvious reasons.]

I would. [He doesn't flinch or blink.] I would fight ten.
