Everyone probably marks significant moments somehow. [At least their cultures celebrate instead of mourn.]

[Somewhat mollified, but still a little insulted.]

[Would it be easier to have Zichen get it? Yes. But the assumption--worse, the telling of him to go to his warden--was insulting and scratched on a raw nerve of his. He was like a dog with his hackles raised now, ready to bark at the next suspicious sound.]

Of course I'd be prepared. Only fools go in on a whim.

[Pride is something that was strangled from Song Zichen years ago. He forgets that others haven't been so...humbled. To put it nicely.]

Tha garden will do fer a change in scenery.

[He hardly ever goes there but it could be nice for a companionable sit and a drink.]

I'll be there. [With snacks, most likely, to offset some of the alcohol's effects.] Make yourself comfortable, my friend.

[And so he will head there after taking his time to get some alcohol. He's really going to have to contribute to replenishing the speakeasy once he gets to experience a decent port. He's whistling a tune when he approaches.]
