Zichen sighs and leans into the kiss, scratching his nails lightly over Xue Yang's scalp. He doesn't want to think either. His heart and his head are sore and exhausted. When the kiss ends, he curls around Xue Yang and rests his head on his shoulder.
They can rest for a little while. Zichen keeps watch and lets Xue Yang sleep, occasionally stroking over his back and hair. When the water is growing too cold, he lifts them up and sees to drying Xue Yang off first.
Xue Yang starts to wake up when Song Lan carries him out of the bath. He's too tired to do much other than just staying cuddled up and letting the other man dry him off.
It's nice to just kind of let someone else take over for a little while.
Zichen settles Xue Yang in a chair after he redresses him in his robe. Then he dries off and gets dressed, brushing through his hair and then Xue Yang's. This is actually enjoyable and it isn't difficult for him to pick up the other man, when he is finished, and carry him back to his cabin.
Xue Yang lets himself scoot closer then. "Well, now you have. You felt warm inside me..." And he doesn't want to admit it, but it had easily been the best sex he's ever had.
"There's a woman named Ulla who should be able to give it back to you. She returned my arm. She's a warden. There's a ritual involved, and it's not painless, but it's really not that bad. Worth it, anyway."
It's not just about the kissing! It would be nice to be able to communicate more effectively with Song Lan too.
Ulla. Zichen pales at the thought of more magic and he glances at Xue Yang uncertainly. But he has seen that the other man has his arm back; that isn't any trick.
"I don't think that'll matter. Just ask her about it."
For all his previous taunting, Xue Yang is starting to feel a little bad for cutting out Song Lan's tongue. It had seemed necessary in the moment back then, but... even before they ended up on the Barge, he had sometimes wished that Song Lan could talk to him. He'd only had himself to talk to for a long time...

He snakes his arms around Song Lan's waist and just lets himself rest. After a short moment, he starts to doze off.

"I was, but your fussing woke me up."

"So... now what?"

"I don't know."
But.
"We are alive. We aren't going anywhere. We have time."

"I react to you. I don't know if I would to anyone else."

"Really?" He doesn't want to bring up Xiao Xingchen again, so he doesn't. It's not like he'd know. Neither of them had gotten that close to him.

"I've never tested it." but he has felt nothing but numb and cold since Xingchen stabbed him and Xue Yang's spell took hold.

"You were warm too." and welcoming. And sweet.
"Is it always like that?"
no subject
"You really should consider getting your tongue back," he adds, half-teasing, half-sincere. "Makes kissing even better."

"I am getting tired of typing my every thought."
It's such a nuisance. In a way, he can be more cautious what he says, but he also can't communicate effectively when he is emotional.

"Will it be my tongue? It's not someone else's, right?"
