[ Xue Yang perks up at that and nods. ]

Sure! I'll meet you at the pool?

I'm already there. [He gives him a secret grin.] Hurry.

[ Xue Yang returns the grin. ]

Alright, I will. [ As promised, Xue Yang quickly makes his face to the pool. He's already shedding his outer robe as he enters and looks for Song Lan. ]

[Zichen is dressed in...black swim trunks. That is all. There are black lines on his chest, climbing up to his neck, but they are less intense than they used to be. He looks up at Xue Yang as he enters, smiling shyly.]

...ready?

[ Xue Yang grins at the sight of his gorgeous husband. He'll never tire of seeing him wearing so little. He finds a pair of swim trunks for himself and quickly undresses so he can put them on. ]

Always ready!

[He laughs, the sound echoing against the walls, and he openly watches his mischievous husband.]

That does seem to be the case when you are around me.

[ Xue Yang laughs a little and jumps into the pool. He dives under water and swims up to Song Lan, popping up right by him and wrapping his arms around him. ]

Hi.

[Zichen slips into the pool again and waits. There's a shark in the water now! Or maybe one of those little fish that like to nibble? He is ready to wrap Xue Yang in his arms, kissing his wet forehead in the process.]

I'm sorry he contacted you.

[ Xue Yang is a very scary shark! Or not. He snuggles into Song Lan's arms and kisses him. ]

Meh. He's a dick. Hopefully he gets his shit together and stops obsessing.

[Extremely! Zichen smiles into the kiss and peppers more kisses over Xue Yang's face.]

He must be miserable like that. I'm proud of you for not falling for his goad.

[ Xue Yang giggles under those kisses and squirms playfully in his husband's arms. ]

Mmm. I would've disappointed myself if I did.

[He really has caught a fish! Zichen tickles him underwater and spins them around, urging Xue Yang to wrap his legs around his waist.]

Never disappoint yourself, A-Yang. That's when I would be upset.

[ Xue Yang laughs and clings onto Song Lan, wrapping his legs around him too. Smiling warmly, he leans down for a kiss, his fingers moving into his husband's wet hair. ]

I don't want to upset you.

[Zichen spins them at random, enjoying Xue Yang's laughter. He pauses for the kiss, returning the pressure with all of the love in his heart.]

You haven't. Since we decided to be together, you haven't once upset me.

[ Xue Yang blushes happily and wraps himself even tighter around Song Lan steady, solid body. ]

Good... It could still happen, but I won't do it on purpose.

I know. Likewise, love. If I upset you, I will apologize.

[He sneaks an arm under his husband, cradling him fully.]

Tell me if I ever go too far, please.

I can't imagine you going too far with anything... but I will.

[ He lets out a purr-like sound when cradled and nuzzles him happily. ]

I have a temper. [They both know that. He drops a kiss onto Xue Yang's shoulder, whispering against the skin.] I don't want to hurt you again.

[Physically or mentally.]

So do I. [ He presses his lips to the top of Song Lan's head. ] And I don't want to hurt you again either. We'll keep each other safe.

I haven't seen your temper in awhile. [Zichen takes them into the deeper water and dunks them. For only a moment. Then he brings them back to the surface, kissing Xue Yang soundly on the lips.]

I won't be used against you by anyone.

I haven't had a reason to be angry. [ He lets out a little squeak as he's dunked, spluttering a bit when they emerge. He laughs against Song Lan's lips. ] Don't let anyone use me against you either. [ He kisses him again, firmly. ]

I'm glad. [Zichen laughs at the squeak, smoothing a strong hand over Xue Yang's wet hair. Then he kisses his husband, peering into his eyes. There is nothing between them. No lies. No fury. No pain.]

I would kill them if they threatened your life.

[ Xue Yang shivers and tangles his fingers into Song Lan's hair. It always makes him feel hot when Song Lan says things like that, though he knows it wouldn't be great if his husband actually did it... ]

I love you being protective, and possessive... but I don't want you to risk getting demoted.

If a knife is held at your throat, I won't care if I am demoted. [Zichen is unmovable on that.] The Admiral must forgive me. I will accept any punishment if you are safe.

[And alive. And with him.]

[ Xue Yang smiles warmly and nips at Song Lan's bottom lip. ]

Mmm... self-defense and defending others is probably fine. I'd do the same for you. Even though we can't die permanently here.
