[Zichen sits on the bed too, rubbing under the boy cat's chin.]

What about Muyang for this one? [It means "bathe in the sun".] Xiuying would fit her.

[That one means "brave and beautiful". Just like their little kitten.]

[ Xue Yang grins and nods as he leans into Song Lan. ] I like it.

Then we have little A-Yang and A-Ying. [He chuckles and welcomes Xue Yang with a longer kiss.] I hope you don't mind sharing your name with our boy?

[ Xue Yang chuckles. ] You gave our babies courtesy names! [ He lets out a pleased hum into the kiss. ] 'Course not. They're different characters anyway, right?

Why not? [Zichen smiles and nuzzles their noses together.] They are part of our family.

[He nods.] Mm they are. Your name refers to the ocean, I believe.

Mhm, it does.

[ He grins a little. ] Did you know that I have a courtesy name too? Jin Guangyao gave it to me when I was their guest disciple. Said it would be proper for me to have one, but he was the only one who ever called me by it. Chengmei. Stupid, right?

There are frightening things in the ocean, but I imagine it's beautiful.

[Much like Xue Yang. Zichen arches a brow and wrap an arm around his lover.]

Chengmei... [He frowns thoughtfully.] Adult beauty? I assume beauty in this case also refers to mannerisms.

[It's an odd choice.]

I wouldn't call it stupid. It feels...manipulative. Like he wanted you to become more like the name.

A-Yao told me it's derived from chéng rén zhī měi. Like I'm some sort of gentleman. It's basically a joke.

[ He leans into Song Lan's arms and leans up to kiss under his chin. ]

So, it is stupid.

[Zichen makes a noncommittal noise, but it's clear he doesn't like Xue Yang being teased.]

What if we thought up a better courtesy name?

[ Xue Yang likes that protectiveness. He grins and glances up at his lover. ]

Like what?

I would choose Fai for you. [It refers to a beginning or rebirth. Zichen kisses Xue Yang's forehead.] Xue Fai has a nice ring to it.

[ Song Lan will get a kiss for that. ] That's only one character though.

What if we add Chang? ["Smooth, free, unhindered, good, sunlight". He smiles slowly.]

We could then change it to Feichang. [Which means: "very very much unusual extraordinary".] That suits my A-Yang.

As long as it's not the same Chang as the Chang clan.

[ He chuckles a little, almost uneasy to even mention them.

He then nuzzles under Song Lan's chin, not unlike one of their cats. ]

Absolutely not. [Zichen pulls Xue Yang against his side.] Your name means you are unhindered sunlight and extraordinary.

[He softens and chuckles at the nuzzling.]

I wouldn't call you A-Chang, love. You would be A-Fei.

[ Xue Yang blushes a little and snuggles closer, both arms wrapping around Song Lan's middle, head resting on his shoulder. ]

Well, that's good then. [ He sounds a little choked up, because he is. No one has ever said such sweet things about him before. ]

[Zichen lays Muyang on the bed and gathers Xue Yang fully into his arms, caressing his hair.]

I want to give you a name that reminds you of who you can be. [He hesitates and lays a hand on Xue Yang's cheek.] And who you are to me.

[ Xiuying lets out an offended little meow as the shift in position disturbs her nap. Xue Yang can't help but to laugh. ]

So sorry, Your Highness.

[ She swishes her tail and goes to join Muyang.

And Xue Yang's attention is once again stolen by Song Lan and the sweet words coming from him. Not knowing what to say in response, he leans up to kiss him. ]

[Muyang kisses over the little princess's head, tucking her safely against his side. Zichen looks thoroughly amused by the antics, but his attention is soon focused solely on Xue Yang.]

I believe in you. [He murmurs before meeting the kiss, his eyes fluttering closed. His hand slips down Xue Yang's chest and wraps around his waist.]

[ Xue Yang lets out a soft sound into the kiss, lightly nibbling at Song Lan's lips as he deepens it.

He still has a hard time believing in all of this, but it doesn't feel as fragile as it had when it started. Maybe... maybe he gets to be happy this time around. ]

[Zichen moans and parts his lips, letting Xue Yang do anything he likes. He meanwhile explores his A-Yang's mouth, amused when he finds little patches of sweetness. Somehow Xue Yang's kisses are always sweet.]

Mmm I like coming home to you.

[ It's probably all the candy he eats! It's a good thing he takes care of his teeth...

He slides his tongue into Song Lan's mouth and tastes him too, shivering pleasantly. ]

Mmm, I like it too.

[Zichen would brush his teeth for him if he didn't! Losing teeth is no joke and rot hurts.

Shuddering, he sucks on the tongue that pays him a visit, grinning.]

You like coming home to you?

[ Xue Yang lets out a surprised laugh and slaps Song Lan's shoulder. ]

You know what I meant! Ass.

[Zichen looks quite pleased with himself!]

Yes, I do. [But he has to tease~] We both know I'm not above taunts.
